The kids were loaded onto the train at the recycling station on E. Main Street (Rt 585) in Smithville
& headed SE on the Wheeling & Lake Erie train line (orange on the map below).
You can follow the map on Mapquest (zoom in one more time to see Rd names) to trace their journey (Sorry, this will probably only be interesting to those of you who live in the area)...*First they went past Papa-Papa Miller & Mark & Lyn's house (Northeast St in Smithville)
*crossed back Orrville Rd (near Simon's house)
*across RT 57 (Wadsworth Rd) (sorry if that held any of you up from getting to or from Orrville yesterday around 11) :)
*flew past the back of the Horst's house (Hi Dillon!)
*went under Rt 30
*sailed by Lake Harmony ("Hello" to the Gerbers, Roshongs, Masts, Ausgspurgers, Kings!)
*then by Camp Luz
*crossed Arnold Rd ("Howdy!" Papa & Grandma, Ramseyers & Gerbers)
*sped by Sonnenberg (Kidron) Station, but couldn't quite see the church at the top of Zuercher Rd
*continued past Gerber Feed Mill on Moser Rd
*then the conductor stopped the train, walked to the back & did the trip in reverse. :)
David said that it was interesting to see very familiar places from a very different point of view.
Here is a short video of a couple places along the way (heading NW).
