The Details...

Another school year done...so hard to believe. Someone once told me that as soon as your kids hit school, time flies. Boy, they weren't kidding!

Each year, I like to take a picture on the first day of school...

and then one on the last...

(No, Cait was NOT having a good day.) But, things looked up for her very quickly...Papa came & watched them so I could go in to school to watch the kids' field day.

It was HOT & HUMID, just about right for a school field day. The water games were their favorites...

but it was time with friends that was the best

So, it's now time to say good-bye to another year...

We thank Mrs. Olsen for her complete understanding of boys in general & Colin in particular. It was such a blessing to know that she appreciated his humor & personality...yet continually challenged him to make good choices & take responsibility for his actions. He really has grown up a lot this year & I believe we have her to thank for a lot of that. (two Daniels down, two more to go.)Mrs. Martin was exactly who(m) Emily needed this year. Her quiet, sweet spirit made Emily feel right at home from the first day. She made everyone in her class feel special & listened to. She is gifted with such creativity & the whole 2nd grade team worked so well together to challenge each student right at their own level.

Looking forward to next year...Colin will be headed to Mrs. Horst's 1st grade class with his buddies, Simon & Gabe. He's sad that Terin & Aaron won't be there with him, but assures me that he'll see them 3 times each day...at recess.

Emily is off to Mrs. Maddigan's 3rd grade class. After 2 long years apart, she'll finally be back with her friend, Megan. They are both thrilled!

After a very sticky day at school, we took our first trip to Mapledale to cool off. (To my Miller cousins...didn't that rock used to be a whole lot bigger when we were kids? :) Amazing how things shrink after 20 years or so!)
