THURSDAY...
HAPPY 34th BIRTHDAY
to
DAVID!!!!!
Dave's Mom, Joyce made the trek out here to be with us for the party & was able to spend the night. She was a huge help!
Thursday was also Colin's last day of Lego college. Unfortunately, he had one of those "I hope this is just a bad dream moment" at the very end. The class was outside racing their cars on the sidewalk. Evidently (for some reason), Colin was scooting along the cement, stood up & realized that he had ripped the back of his pants. If you're like me, you'd imagine this rip being a little tear, but no, this pretty much ripped out the whole back of the seat of his pants! Poor kiddo, but he seemed to recuperate from it rather quickly. :) After David's party, we held a little "graduation" ceremony for Colin. Dad made an awesome diploma for him, conferring upon him the title of "Blockhead Extraordinaire"

Before all the above took place, we spent the day setting up for this weekend's garage sale. It was an absolutely beautiful day...big, blue skies with puffy white clouds...that is until 3:30. We saw some big, dark clouds off to the west, so we got the tarps out just in case. Five minutes later, we felt some drops of rain, so we quickly pushed all the tables together & covered them up. Then the real fun started. This is how my mom likes to tell the story..."I heroically sacrificed myself under the table to hold down the tarps as the wind was whipping around us, getting drenched by the water that was flowing underneath the tables, as Chris gallantly stood in the dry garage laughing & taking pictures of the whole thing." :) In my defense, I knew you'd all enjoy to see this...I was being quite selfless if you think about it! :)

Yet another storm. This time with rain, hail & tornado warnings. The rain came so fast, it created a pond/bog/mud pit in our backyard, just big enough for my 4...make that 5 kids to play in.Had just enough energy to fall into bed.
