The 3 maples that were once strapped to the top of our van have now been planted in our yard. Although our mostly clay soil is really harsh, they seem to be doing rather well. So far they have withstood the shock of being uprooted, transported, transplanted & even some really strong winds (we were even under a tornado watch on Saturday). Now, it's just a matter of keeping them well watered.
Since we've moved to our house, we've managed to plant and keep alive 4 evergreens, 3 arborvitae, 3 oaks, 2 boxwood, an ornamental & now the 3 maples. We won't mention the ones that haven't survived, but we'll just keep our fingers crossed that the maples won't end up in that category.
