A memorable day at school

The kids were evacuated from school today because of a gas leak. They left the building quickly(with no coats or backpacks), the fire department was called in & eventually walked to a nearby church to be bused home. The up side: NO HOMEWORK this weekend! :) WOO HOO!

We're awaiting the "official" report, but we do know that several other buildings were evacuated in the village, including the Post Office.

So, that was our excitement for the day. The kids could not get off the bus fast enough to tell me all about it. :)

UPDATE: 9/29/08- The official report is that there was some sort of gas leak that traveled through the sewer lines, then up through the plumbing in the different buildings. It lasted about 1 1/2 hours or so & then the smell was gone.
