A missed opportunity...ERRR!

When Emily was little, I realized that when she went out to play in the snow her little wrists would get all cold. No matter how I pulled her coat sleeves down, they always seemed to slide back up. Then the snow would pack itself in the space left between the mittens & end of the sleeve.

Since necessity is the mother of invention, I thought very long & hard over this one. I finally came up with an idea (& bonus...a way to use unmatched pairs of socks)...

First, cut a small hole in the heel of the sock. Slip the sock over the hand (thumb through he hole), put the coat on & then mittens over top of the socks. Viola! Instant wrist protectors. (For gloves, also cut one long hole in the toe of the sock)

I felt so clever until my mom saw something very similar (although not made from old socks) on an infomercial...oh well, there goes my millions. :)

Oh yeah, what got me thinking of this? It finally snowed (not a huge amount, but enough)!!!! We were all pretty disappointed that it rained on Christmas, but this made up for it a little. :)
